The countdown to Halloween is on! Just one more week until October 31, 2015, and I couldn’t be more excited. It’s also been just a little over a month since I launched spookylittlehalloween.com, and I cannot believe how many new friends I’ve made, how many fellow Halloween bloggers I’ve met and the positive response I’ve gotten. You guys know how to make a spooky little girl feel welcome.
I hope even after October 31 has passed, you’ll continue coming back here to get your Halloween fix all year. I have a LOT in store, and I can’t wait to share it all with you. (A great way to do that is by joining my newsletter!)
But enough gushing…today I wanted to share photos from my favorite room in my whole apartment when it comes to Halloween decor. It’s not quite as full of Halloweenies (what I call my tchotchkes) as my living room is, but cuddling up in bed under the glow of orange lights and bats flying over my head puts me in the Halloween mood like nothing else.
It also doesn’t hurt that my black & white bedroom scheme lends itself well to Halloween decor.
Take the tour
(By the way, as I said with my living room tour, I’m not one of those girls who lives in a Pinterest-perfect space. I’m a real person living in a real apartment. My style is eclectic and cozy – or as one of my friends recently put it, groupie/hippie/granny cottage. I’ll gladly take that over living in a museum any day.)

The first year I had this purple garland, I used it on a mantel in an old apartment mixed with dripping candles and pumpkins. Then I moved and it didn’t get used for the longest time. I’m glad it’s found a new home.
Two of my favorite ways to decorate are a direct result of this setup. I never go wrong with lights and spooky fabric.
I really shouldn’t have treated myself to this sign…but I’m so glad I did.
Remember this little guy from Instagram? He found a home on the shelf that overlooks my bedside bookcase.
I find these guys at craft shows in Houston all the time. They’re almost always under $5, and I LOVE them! My mom and I both have growing collections. (Her’s are all adorable witches and witch hats.)
My little reading corner. I love the Phantom Planet zombie poster peeking in from the hall. He glows in the dark and stays out all year long.
Found this at Party City, of all places, last year. I have so many Halloween door hangings that even my bedroom gets one.
I made my candy corn blanket a few years ago. I wish it’d get cool enough in Houston to curl up under it!
I seriously love these ghost window clings!
Making pennants out of Halloween scrapbook paper books is one of my favorite things to do while watching trashy TV.
I mean…what spooky little girl wouldn’t want to sleep here?
What is your favorite Halloween decor in your home?
